Devised Theatre Program
From September to June, this full season program will give your youth the Total Theatre Experience. Through games, improvisation, play, workshops, and more play, your youth will:
-create a brand new play from scratch to be performed in June
-have opportunities to act, write, design, stage manage, and crew both our December and June productions
-work with industry professionals from around Alberta
We like to think of this program as our Choose Your Own Adventure approach. If your youth is interested in theatre, we will work to create opportunities for them to explore all that theatre has to offer.
Rehearsals: Sunday from 12:00-4:00 and Tuesday from 6:00-8:00, September to June

$750.00 (Full Season- Sept to June)

Performances: Dec 8-10 and 15-17 and/or June 8-10 and 15-17

Registration for our 2022/23 is now closed. We will open registration for our 2023/24 season in June 2023.
About Devised Theatre Program
Devised Theatre is the term often used to describe theatre that is created by a group of individuals. From September to June, participants will go through the process of creating plays from scratch for our 4th Annual THYT One-Act Festival in June. We do this through a variety of activities and exercises, which can include:

And Play. We just be silly and see what comes up as a result.
This program is designed to give your youth a Total Theatre Experience. Modern theatre requires a team of people, and the theatre industry rewards those with a diverse set of theatre skills. This program will teach industry standards in theatre creation, which includes acting, writing, directing, stage managing, design, and running crew.

VAHN McCAGG (They/Them)
THYT FIGHT CHOEROGRAPHER
As an FDC Certified Fight Choreographer, Vahn joins THYT as a professional mentor this season. In addition to ensuring all of our stage combat is done to industry standards, they will also be leading a stage combat workshop twice in the season, and it will be open to all THYT 2022/23 participants at no additional cost.
