Film Program
Ages 13-17

What is the THYT Film Program?

Our Film Program is brand new for the 2023/24 season! Participants will work with our Artistic Director, Albertus Koett, on the process of creating a short film. Participants will learn the basics of screenwriting, storyboarding, direction, set etiquette, editing with Final Cut Pro, and acting for film. Short films worked on during the year will be shown in January and June with our Theatre Program performances.

Participants will have the opportunity to take on roles like actor, director, screenwriter, 1st assistant director, camera crew, sound crew, set decoration, costumes, props, and editing. The Film Program will work on a group short film during each term. 

Most Wednesday evenings we will be at the Red Deer Memorial Centre, but may need to meet at locations around Red Deer if there is any location filming needed.

• Program runs from September to June

• Every Wednesday from 6:00-8:00

• Cost:

  • $500.00 (Full Season- Sept to June)

  • $275.00 (One-Term- Sept to Jan or Feb to June)

  • $1200.00 (when combined w Theatre Program)

• Screenings: January and June at the Red Deer Memorial Centre
