1st Annual Tree House One-Act Festival
As a result of the decision by the City of Red Deer to order the closure of all city buildings until June 30th, we will be postponing our 1st Annual Tree House One-Act Festival. We will be continuing to rehearse our 5 one-act plays, through Zoom video conferencing, in the hopes that the situation in Red Deer improves by June. We will be making a decision on when/where our one-act festival will be presented, in May. We are also exploring alternative ways to present our one-act festival to you.
Refunds for those that have already purchased tickets to the one-act festival will begin to be processed tomorrow. Credit card purchases will automatically be processed, and there is no need to contact the BKI. For debit and cash purchases, please EMAIL the BKI at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Tree House is more than just performance. We are also about the process, connections, and learning about all aspects of theatre. This is why we are choosing to continue to rehearse, despite the uncertainly of whether or not we will be able to perform our shows. If we do eventually decide to cancel the one-acts, we will still have spent the next few months together rehearsing, learning, growing, and creating. We are having drop in Zoom sessions every Tuesday, where we will have invited guests from the Alberta theatre industry join our participants to discuss theatre in Alberta.
Additionally, we are hosting a weekly playwriting program through Zoom as well for participants interested in writing a play. The playwriting program is being led by our Artistic Director, Albertus Koett.
If you have any questions, do not hesitate to ask. We are all in this together.
