Theatre Program
Ages 11-12
What is the THYT Theatre Program?
Is your youth interested in being on stage or behind rhe scenes? Do they love performing and want to find a group of like minded kids? Then the Theatre Program is perfect for them. The Theatre Program will work on two productions each season; one in January, and one in June. Utilizing industry standards and practices, participants will have the opportunity to learn about, and participate in performance, stage management, playwriting, design (lights, costumes, sound, set), and board operations/programming.

Participants can choose to be part of one, or both productions each season

Rehearsals: Sunday from 2:00-4:00 at Parkland Mall

Performances: January 22-24, 2026 and June 18-20, 2026

About Devised Theatre
Devised Theatre is the term often used to describe theatre that is created by a group of individuals. From September to June, participants will go through the process of creating plays from scratch for our January production, and our annual THYT One-Act Festival in June. We do this through a variety of activities and exercises, which can include:

And Play. We just be silly and see what comes up as a result.
This program is designed to give your youth a Total Theatre Experience. Modern theatre requires a team of people, and the theatre industry rewards those with a diverse set of theatre skills. This program will teach industry standards in theatre creation, which includes acting, writing, directing, stage management, design, and running crew.
